Just One Thing!

We ask that each parent volunteer for Just One Thing to support the Edna PTA this school year. 

 

All parents, guardians and caretakers are invited to become active community members by signing-up to help in at least one of the activities listed below.

Volunteer Opportunities

OPEN BOARD POSITIONS


VP FUNDRAISING:  VP Fundraising oversees the annual giving/membership campaign as well as all fundraising events for the PTA. 


VP COMMUNITY:  VP of Community leads our planning volunteers who help plan and execute our many family wide events. These events include the Kindergarten Meet and Greet, First Day Fizz, Family Welcome Picnic, Movie Night, and our end of year Ice Cream Social. 


AUDITOR:  Auditor is responsible for auditing the books and financial records twice a year ( 6/30 and 12/31). 

OPEN COMMITTEE ROLES

 

COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER: Help oversee the communications strategy and execution for all PTA communications.  Although not an official board role, this person would be invited to all PTA board meetings as well as the association meetings in order to maintain knowledge of all PTA activities and provide recommendations on communications.  This person would work closely with the other communications volunteers.

 

PTA NEWSLETTER & PARENTSQUARE MANAGER: This person would be responsible for aggregating and creating content for the Edna Monthly (formerly weekly) newsletter.  This would require approximately 1 - 2 hours a month.  This person would also be the owner of the PTA Parentsquare account and would be responsible for sending out content  from other PTA board members such as event reminders, call for volunteers, etc.  This should require no more than 1 hour per month.  

 

PTA ROOM PARENT LIASON: This person would be responsible for aggregating and distributing the monthly PTA updates to Edna Room parents for them to send to their classroom parents.  This should require no more than 1 hour per month.  

 

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER: This role can be as small or big as someone wants.  At the minimum, we need someone to post announcements and reminders given to them by event and committee chairs.  This person can also create a community feel by posting post-event pictures as well as PTA resources throughout the year.  

SPIRIT WEAR MANAGER:  2-3 individuals will work together throughout the year to create, order and sell our Edna Maguire spirit wear.  


TEACHER APPRECIATION: 1-3 individuals will work together throughout the year to manage the many ways our PTA supports the appreciation of our Edna teachers.  


EDNA PARTY BOOK: 2-4 individuals will recruit Edna Party Book hosts and manage the online marketplace Edna Party Book events.  


EDNA YEARBOOK: 3+ individuals will manage the photography, layout and sales of our annual Edna Mustangs’ Yearbook.


WALK & ROLL MANAGER: 1-3 individuals will work with our Marin county Safe Routes to School liaison and ensure the implementation of our 1x per month Walk & Roll morning events.  


HOLIDAY STAFF GIFT COORDINATOR: 2-3 individuals will coordinate the distribution of the annual staff gifts in December.

Just One Thing! 

YEARBOOK PHOTOGRAPHY 

This is a perfect volunteer position for the aspiring photographer or any parent who can spend a little time on campus during school hours or at evening school events.  Volunteers take photos of school wide activities and capture candid moments of students and staff members. You can even hound your friends for their snapshots. You'll then upload your photos to our online yearbook website. 

MAKERS NIGHT

Makers Night is on Tuesday, April 4.  There will be several stations for students to explore and create STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) projects. Volunteers  are needed to help with planning and all the behind the scenes work to get this event ready. We hope you'll make yourself a volunteer on Makers Night!  Sign up here!

EDNA GARDEN FAIR

Garden Fair is on Sunday, May 7.  It's our biggest community event with special experiences planned for all. Most important - it showcases our wonderful garden! Enjoy games, crafts and treats for the whole family.  Volunteers are needed to help with everything from planning to clean-up. A lot of work happens behind the scenes to make this event such a memorable time for the whole family.  Sign up and help make this year's Garden Fair a success! Join the planning committee here. 

 STAFF LOUNGE TREATS & BEVERAGES 

Show appreciation for Edna's amazing teachers and staff by donating treats and beverages to the staff lounge.  Click the link for details. On your selected day, you will bring your items to the front office and deliver them to the staff lounge.  

WALK & ROLL WEDNESDAYS 

Help make Walk and Roll Wednesdays a success! Volunteers are needed to set up one table at the front of the school and one table near the bike racks, You'll give prizes to the kids that walked or rolled to school that day.  

LUNCH & RECESS DUTY 

Help Yard Duty staff and ensure students are following playground rules and being safe.  You'll also assist  with the transition between the lunch area and playground.  This is a fun opportunity to get to know your child's class...and to see what really happens outside the classroom!

CAR LINE DUTY

Help manage the traffic flow during morning drop-off.  Volunteers get to wear a safety vest and a hold a stop sign. Kids love to see it! You'll post-up along the driveway and crosswalks to ensure the line keeps moving. Safety first! Please review the district car line information here.

CHICKEN CARE

The chickens need our TLC! You can help let them out of the coop every morning and put them back in for bed every night. There are currently 13 Chickens!
